Two excellent defenses here in what could be an excellent game. The Badgers remain the last real chance for the Big Ten to get a team to the college football playoff, but they’ll have to beat Michigan, Minnesota and then presumably Ohio State in the conference title game.

Outside of Iowa last week, this is the first real test for Wisconsin. After getting torched by Penn State last month, Michigan has rebounded well in a trio of blowouts over lesser competition. The Wolverines are a huge longshot to play in the conference title game, but in order to even be in the conversation, they have to win this game.

Michigan’s defense is good enough to keep them in this game. The Wolverines rank ninth against the run, Wisconsin is the top-ranked rush defense. The difference in winning could by Alex Hornibrook, especially with the Badgers at home. But Michigan has also been playing with an edge and quarterback Brandon Peters has led the offense well in his time.
