Alabama heads to Oxford once again ranked highly and looking to avoid an upset. The Rebels have won two straight over the Crimson Tide, this Alabama team comes in led by a freshman quarterback in Jalen Hurts, he has looked strong to this point through a couple of games. Hurts was solid against USC in the opener and helped lead the Crimson Tide to a big win over Western Kentucky last week as well.
The whole world saw Nick Saban blow up at Lane Kiffin later in the game, but that’s the way it can be with a couple of competitive guys. Everyone knows Saban expects greatness each time the Crimson Tide take to the field and giving up double-digit points to Western Kentucky did not meet that criteria.
Ole Miss is coming off a less than stellar win over Wofford, but it’s better than losing a game, like they did in the opening week to Florida State. That puts a lot of pressure on Hugh Freeze and the Rebels in this game, because falling to 1-2 at this point would certainly put a damper on the rest of the season.
Chad Kelly has been no stranger to talking himself up, but the senior quarterback threw three interceptions against Florida State, a fast defense but one that isn’t as good as what Alabama will bring into Oxford.
Saban has dropped two straight to Ole Miss, but this year’s team looks like one that should be able to walk into Oxford and hammer home a win.
