The West Virginia Mountaineers will be playing the Bucknell Bison in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday afternoon. The college basketball odds for the game have the Mountaineers listed as a big favorite to pick up the win.
College Basketball Odds
West Virginia -14
Total: 147.5 points
West Virginia may not have won the Big 12 Tournament, but Bob Huggins and the Mountaineers feel like they can make some noise here. They’re comfortably favored over the Bison in the opening round of the tournament and they should be able to win.
The Mountaineers press and play amazing defense, that will certainly challenge Bucknell’s comfort zone and their ability to run a complete offense. When West Virginia is at its peak on defense playing a game against them has to feel like an absolute nightmare. For the season Bucknell poured in better than 76 points per game, they are led by Zach Thomas and his 16 points per game, but they have four starters averaging double digits per game.
West Virginia will cause the Bison some problems and the point spread being so high makes it look like the Mountaineers themselves will have no issues scoring points.
