The Baylor Bears are hosting the West Virginia Mountaineers tonight in college basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. The college basketball odds for the game have the Bears favored to pick up the victory here on the road.

Baylor has a decent resume for a team with double-digit losses on the season. They have eight wins over Top 100 RPI teams this season and come into tonight’s game with five straight wins. Prior to that the Bears had dropped six of seven overall, so they may have figured some things out here.

Two of those most recent wins came over conference front-runners Kansas and Texas Tech. Both of those victories came at home, where the Bears will look to pick up another one.

West Virginia is 5-7 the last 12. The Big 12 has been a meat grinder all season and Bob Huggins’ group is just looking to regain some momentum as the season comes to a close. The Mountaineers have to quickly move past Saturday’s loss at Kansas. Huggins was critical of the officiating as the Jayhawks shot 35 free throws compared to just two for his team.

The Mountaineers are a solid tournament team, but Baylor has some work to do and picking up a win here over West Virginia would be a solid win. The Bears are playing solid basketball right now and at home, which could be the difference.
