The UCLA Bruins and Cincinnati Bearcats will face off in the final game of the second round in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday night. The game is scheduled for a 9:40 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on TBS. The college basketball odds for the game have the Bruins favored to pick up the win.
College Basketball Odds
UCLA -4
Total: 153 points
The late night start has to favor UCLA in this instance. The game is being played out in Sacramento and with UCLA already being within the time zone, it should give them a benefit. Cincinnati is a ways away and this one will surely tip off later than 10:00 p.m. EST. But in any case, that’s the way things go and Cincinnati will have to bring a really good effort in order to knock off the Bruins.
UCLA plays fast, they score a ton of points and they have no problem getting a whole lot of possessions up. Cincinnati is not that team. In fact, the Bearcats rank 328th in tempo according to efficiency ratings this season while the Bruins are 13th nationally. That is a huge difference and one the Bruins will like to exploit in this one.
So the way the game is officiated and played will determine the winner. The total would give an indication that UCLA has an upper hand, but them only being favored by a couple of possessions is a bit odd. Cincinnati is a great team, they play well on the defensive end of the floor and are good enough offensively to hang around.
But UCLA playing on the West Coast is going to be tough to beat.
