College Basketball Super Tuesday Kentucky Wildcats at Georgia Bulldogs Basketball Odds, Start Time and Free Pick

Tuesday night in CBB will see the top ranked Kentucky Wildcats  travel to Athens to take on the Georgia Bulldogs as a part of ESPN's Super Tuesday. The game is scheduled for a 9:00 pm tipoff and will be televised live on EspnCurrently Kentucky is favored by 12 points with the total being set at 129 for this game. Back at the top of the national polls, the Kentucky Wildcats put an 11-game win streak on the line this evening, as they take on the Georgia Bulldogs in SEC action at Stegeman Coliseum.

Free Analysis: Kentucky (19-1) was only team among the top four in last week's AP poll to win Saturday as it held off visiting Alabama 77-71. The Wildcats scored their final 15 points from the free-throw line and made 23 of 29 attempts in the second half. The Wildcats moved to 5-0 in SEC play, marking the best start in the conference under John Calipari. The victory was also the 47th straight at home for Kentucky, the longest current win streak in the country. The Wildcats have earned their number one ranking again thanks to stellar play at both ends of the floor. The team is averaging almost 80 points per game (79.5) and boasts of the nation's second-best scoring margin (+19.8) thanks to stellar play at the defensive end, allowing just 59.7 ppg, holding opponents to just .363 shooting (2nd nationally).  Despite obvious youth on the roster, Kentucky has a plethora of options offensively, with five players currently averaging double figures. Doron Lamb leads the team in scoring at 14.0 ppg and last year  lit up the Bulldogs twice last season, going for 18 and 19 points, including five 3-pointers. However, freshman Anthony Davis' emergence as one of the top low post players in the nation has really made the difference. Davis is averaging a double-double with 13.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. The 6-10 youngster is converting 63 percent of his shots this year and leads the nation in blocked shots (4.7 apg). Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (13.2 ppg), Terrence Jones (11.9 ppg) and Marquis Teague (10.5 ppg) round out the top scoring threats on the team. Mark Fox's Bulldogs are an unimpressive 10-9 on the season and have really struggled in league play, winning just one of the first five SEC affairs on the docket. After picking up its first SEC win last week in overtime against Tennessee (57-53), Georgia failed to continue its winning ways with a 66-63 loss to Ole Miss last weekend.  The Bulldogs are led by freshman Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who leads the team in scoring (14.7 points), minutes (31.6) and steals (1.8). He is coming off a career-high 25-point effort in the loss to Ole Miss, the first time in 13 years a Bulldog has scored that many as a freshman. Gerald Robinson (13.8 ppg) is the only other double digit scorer on the team and he scored 17 during the upset of Kentucky and 12 during a 66-60 loss at Rupp Arena last Jan. 29. The Bulldogs are one of the worst offensive teams in the nation, putting up just 61.9 ppg (299th) on 39.8% shooting (319th), while in conference play they have averaged just 58.6 ppg on 37.35 shooting. The Bulldogs have done a fine job at the defensive end for much of the year, allowing just 63.2 ppg (84th), but once SEC play started that number has jumped to 68 ppg. Kentucky has dominated the all-time series with Georgia at 113-25 and is 39-16 in Athens, but Georgia has beaten the Wildcats eight times over the last 10 years. The two teams split a year ago.

Free Pick: Been back forth on this one. 13 of the last 18 games have been decided by 10 or fewer points, with two going into overtime, plus with Kentucky being off a big win vs Alabama this could be a let down spot. Now looking at the other side Georgia is just 1-4 in the SEC, with 3 of those losses by DD, including a 15 point home loss to Alabama. What's a person to do? Well I'll tell ya. Im gonna go with the Over. The Cats just put up 77 points on a a very tough Alabama defense and should have similar success in this one vs a Georgia team that has struggled at that end of the floor in SEC play, allowing 68 ppg. The Cats are averaging 79.5 ppg overall, including 75 ppg in SEC play, so there is no reason to think that they can't hit at last 72 or 73 in this one. The Cats at the other end of the floor have done very well this year, limiting teams to just 59.7 ppg overall, but in SEC play that number jumps to 62.6 ppg allowed and 62.7 ppg allowed on the road. Judging by those numbers and the fact that Georgia has averaged 64.1 ppg at home, I see no reason why they can't reach at least 60 points in this one. The Bulldogs don't like to run, but the Cats will push the tempo here and make them run more than they want to. I expect around 135 in this one. KEY TRENDS--- GEORGIA is 26-14 OVER as an underdog over the last 3 seasons, and 27-12 OVER vs. teams who are called for 3+ less fouls/game than their opponents since 1997.
