College Basketball Odds
Kansas -5
Total: 157 points
Kansas looks like the best team remaining in the NCAA Tournament, but they are going to get a real test tonight form the Boilermakers. Purdue has scored 80 points in each of their first two tournament games, beating both Vermont and Iowa State and they should have some confidence going in this one.
Caleb Swanigan might be the best player on the floor tonight. He’s a double-double machine and has posted one in each of the tournament games. He can stretch the defense and knock down a perimeter shot if he needs to, that could play into an advantage tonight for the Boilers.
Kansas has Frank Mason III, Josh Jackson and Devonte’ Graham, a three-guard set that is going to work it in the half court and look to use their athleticism. Getting to the free-throw line will be important for the Jayhawks as well. Kansas is 31-of-35 from the foul line in the tournament to this point, that’s the best mark of the teams remaining, which is a big contrast to their shooting at the line during the season.
The Jayhawks were the second-worst Big 12 team from the line and 283rd nationally, but they have been impressive so far in the tournament.
Kansas has the more experienced coach, more talented team and they are in close proximity to home.
