College Basketball Odds
Michigan -3.5
Total: 137.5 points
The dream run for the Michigan Wolverines continues on Saturday with a trip to the tournament semifinals. Michigan beat both Illinois and Purdue in the first two contests of this tournament and they are certainly good enough to beat Minnesota as well.
Derrick Walton Jr. has been huge for Michigan to date, continuing to prove that senior point guards in March are a luxury that pays off. Michigan didn’t shoot the 3-ball well in the win over Purdue, but did what was necessary and earned a strong victory in overtime. The Wolverines got a huge lift from D.J. Wilson and senior Zak Irvin did a nice job defensively.
It was the second straight year that Michigan, as an eighth seed knocked out the top seed in the Big Ten Tournament. Last year the Wolverines beat Indiana in the 1-8 game as well, but were unable to reach the finals, falling to Purdue.
This just looks like Michigan’s year. They lost the regular season meeting with the Gophers, but this team has been on a mission the past month, playing excellent defense.
