The Michigan Wolverines are on the road in college basketball action tonight, taking on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Michigan absolutely needs this win tonight. The Wolverines have to continue to build their NCAA Tournament resume and a road win, even on the road against a bad Rutgers team, is necessary. A loss would certainly put a bruise on a resume that doesn’t really have a bad spot on it, except a defeat at Iowa back at the beginning of the year.

Rutgers is not a good team, the Scarlet Knights are 12-15 on the season and don’t have a Top 50 win on the resume. They have played tough in 10 games against the Top 50 but have come up short in each one of those instances.

Michigan, with an RPI just outside the Top 50, is looking to avoid becoming Rutgers’ best win. The Wolverines have been on a decent run despite going 3-3 the last six games, they have split with Michigan State plus have losses to Ohio State and Minnesota, neither of which should be season-crippling.

Derrick Walton Jr., Mo Wagner and Zak Irvin have to lead Michigan to the win.
