Michigan State did not have a good season, especially by their standards. But now the Spartans have new life as the enter the NCAA Tournament looking to make an impact and a run. It all starts with taking on a Miami team that has been up and down a bit this season, right now they are in a down time despite making the tournament.

The Hurricanes enter having lost three of the last four games overall, ultimately getting torched by North Carolina in the ACC Tournament. Yet they still find themselves favored in this matchup against Michigan State.

Tom Izzo is known for having Michigan State make runs in March. This year they could once again do it based on pedigree, a superstar in Miles Bridges and a supporting cast that is beginning to play better. Michigan State has also lost three of the last four coming in, but those defeats have come by a combined total of 11 points. Nick Ward is really playing good basketball and will look to have an impact on the interior against the Hurricanes. 

Miami is going to need Kamari Murphy to play well. When he does, the Hurricanes can pick up wins. They’re at a disadvantage in coaching and at lack of a superstar, but Miami is just a better team.
