The Kentucky Wildcats are on the road in college basketball tonight, taking on the in-state rival Louisville Cardinals. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The college basketball odds for the game have this one listed as a toss up.

Kentucky is coming off a huge win on Saturday, beating North Carolina 103-100 in Las Vegas. The Wildcats got a huge game from freshman Malik Monk, who scored 47 points and hit a triple as time was running down in the game.

Both teams are 10-1 on the season, this game feels like a game that could be played again later on in March. Both clubs have excellent players littered throughout the roster, but it looks like Louisville might need to get the win here more than Kentucky does.

Starting with this game tonight, the Cardinals have a very tough next month, taking on Virginia and Indiana while traveling to take on Notre Dame as well as the ACC season begins. That’s a rough stretch and it’s possible they lose all four of those battles.

Rick Pitino and John Calipari make this an awesome matchup. Two very strong head coaches that lead major programs make for excellent college basketball games and this one certainly looks good on paper.

Louisville has a couple of strong players in Donovan Mitchell and Quentin Snider, they average double figures per game and are the only two on the roster to do so.

Kentucky has four guys averaging double figures, led by Monk and his 22 points per game. De’Aron Fox already has a triple-double to his name this season and sophomore Isaiah Briscoe is the leader this young team needs.

Louisville’s defense has been awesome again this season, they allow just 59.4 points per game, which ranks 11th best in the country. Kentucky gives up a whole lot more, but they average 95 points per game on offense. Plus they have played in some big games this season and have been tested.
