The Kansas Jayhawks are taking on the UNLV Runnin Rebels in college basketball action tonight. The game is scheduled for a 9:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the CBS Sports Network. Currently the college basketball odds for the game have the Jayhawks listed as a big favorite to pick up the win.

Kansas is once again in the Top 5, they’re one of the hottest teams in the country with 10 straight wins. The lone loss for the Jayhawks came in the season-opener where they gave up 103 points to Indiana. Outside of a 65-point lull in a win over Georgia back around Thanksgiving, the Jayhawks have been posting a ton of points and not letting anybody get close to them.
The Jayhawks are led by senior Frank Mason III, he’s averaging better than 20 points per game and totals nearly 35 minutes on the floor per game. Mason is full of hard work and grit, giving the Jayhawks a veteran presence that can be a leader and go-to guy. He might not need to have a big game here as the Jayhawks are going to clearly be the best team on the floor.
UNLV is in rebuild mode and it’s doubtful they make their way into the NCAA Tournament. The Runnin Rebels are just not good on the defensive end of the floor, giving up almost 74 points a game, the same amount of points they average offensively. With no real room for error on either side, it puts UNLV in a tough spot to avoid turnovers and shoot the ball well almost every time they take the floor.
Against Kansas, that could be an issue. The Jayhawks rebound, share the basketball and they are considerably better offensively. UNLV is at home, but they are in a tough spot here.
