College Basketball Iowa State Cyclones vs Oklahoma State Cowboys Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The No. 16 Iowa State Cyclones travel tonight to take on the No. 19 Oklahoma State Cowboys in Big 12 college basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 9 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have Oklahoma State favored by a couple of possessions in this game.

Oklahoma State has lost two straight games in conference and now have fallen in the rankings. Iowa State has gotten beat up in the Big 12 conference schedule as well. Yet, both of these teams are still two of the most talented in the league and country. We expect this to be a well played game with a lot of points scored.

The Cyclones average better than 84 points per game this season while the Cowboys pour in better than 83 points on average themselves. Oklahoma State has beaten Iowa State 18 straight games on their home floor. Iowa State has not won there since the Big 12 was formed, either. Some fans might think it's time for a change and with the way Oklahoma State is playing, the Cyclones might be able to sneak in there and get a victory. The Cowboys have obviously dropped two straight, but they've also lost three of their last four games overall.

Both Markel Brown and Marcus Smart are amazing players. But if either (or both) of them struggle in games, the Cowboys can be in trouble. But it's worth noting the Cowboys have four of the best scorers in the conference. Smart leads the way at 17.2, Brown averages 16,9, Le'Bryan Nash pours in 14 points per game and Phil Forte averages 12.4 points per game.

A victory here by Iowa State would give them their third win over a ranked opponent in four games. Georges Niang is playing very well in the middle, averaging almost 22 points per game over his last four contests. Melvin Ejim, probably Iowa State's best overall player, has been playing well in his conference games as well.

Expect two teams that love to get out and run in this game. Rebounding will obviously be important and Iowa State is a good rebounding team. Both clubs will want to get out in transition and score easy buckets and the team that is best at that will win. We expect Oklahoma State to break out of their funk tonight, but Iowa State is going to keep this one close.

Free Pick: Oklahoma State 75, Iowa State 71
