Kansas could be gassed coming into this one, the Jayhawks dropped a 103-99 decision to Indiana to open the season. That game was filled with fouls and dragged on for hours, but in the end the Hoosiers were able to come away with the win.

Duke is the top-ranked team in America and they are once again loaded with freshmen but also have a national player of the year candidate in Grayson Allen. Luke Kennard will still be knocking down triples this season and don’t forget Amile Jefferson and Matt Jones are still on the squad. Duke is loaded and even without a couple of freshmen are banged up, they are going to win a ton of games this season.

The Jayhawks will rely on senior leadership, Frank Mason III is one of the toughest players in the country and has a will to win. Freshman phenom Josh Jackson was a bit rusty against Indian but does look to be a premier player given some work.

This should be an excellent game with a lot of points scored. Duke has an advantage in already playing two games, albeit simple beatdowns over Marist and Grand Canyon in tuneup fashion.

Duke gets the nod here because of lack of travel and game experience, even though it’s only one more contest.
