The Cowboys have gone 11-5-1 ATS in their last 17 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, but just 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 road games and 2-7 ATS the last 9 in the series. The Cowboys have not been a good offensive team this year, ranking 294th in scoring (62.1 ppg), 39th in shooting (47.1%), 251st in 3 point shooting (32.4%) and 79th in FT shooting (71.6%). The defense for this team has been very good this year as they come in ranked 4th in points allowed (54.4 ppg), 80th in defensive FG% (40.3%) and 116th in 3 point defense (32.6%).
The San Diego State Aztecs are off a bad 61-46 road loss to Boise State. The loss has dropped them into a tie with Wyoming atop the MWC. The Aztecs do hold the current tiebreak as they did win in Wyoming earlier in the year. San Diego State is still having a solid year as they are 18-6 overall, including a perfect 13-0 at home. San Diego State has gone 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss. The Aztecs have been a poor offensive team this year, ranking 303rd in scoring (61.9 ppg), 278th in shooting (41.1%), 302nd in 3 point shooting (30.6%) and 333rd in FT shooting (62.3%). Defensively the Aztecs have been very good as they come in ranked 3rd in points allowed (53.8 ppg), 15th in defensive FG% (37.8%) and 29th in 3 point defense (30.0%).
Pick: Boy I was hoping the OU line would have come out a bit higher, which would have been an easy Under play for me. Still I will go with the Under in this one. I know that 8 of the last 10 in the series has gone over the total and their first game between these team put up 112 points, but now the game is at San Diego State where they have allowed just 46.5 ppg on the year. In fact we note that San Diego State home games have averaged just 105.9 ppg on the year, which is just crazy. Wyoming has played great defense this year and they have averaged just 55.5 ppg on the road and it doesn't help their offense that their best player (Larry Nance Jr) is out with an illness. SDSU has put up just 59.4 ppg at home and I would not at all be surprised to see neither team hit 50 points in this one.
