Thursday night college basketball and we will see the Ole Miss Rebels travel to the Humphrey Coliseum to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The game has a start time of 9:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN 2. Current Vegas betting odds have Mississippi listed as 5.5 point favorites, while the total is set at 137.  

Analysis:  The Ole Miss Rebels come in off a tough 1 point home loss to the Razorbacks, which snapped the Rebels' 6 game win streak. The Rebels are still having a very good year at 17-8 overall and 8-4 in the SEC, which puts them in a tied for 3rd place with the surprising Aggies. Ole Miss has gone 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 road games, but just 0-5 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Mississippi St. The Rebels have been a solid offensive team this year, ranking 43rd in scoring (73.7 ppg), 178th in shooting (43.3%), 181st in 3 point shooting (34.1%) and 2nd in FT shooting (78.9%). The defense for this team has been rather average this year, ranking 181st in points allowed (66.8 ppg), 40th in defensive FG% (39.4%) and 175th in 3 point defense (33.9%). 

The Mississippi State Bulldogs have not had a great year so far, but they do come in off a nice 77-74 road win over the Missouri Tigers. For the year the Bulldogs are just 12-13 overall and 5-7 within the SEC. Miss State has gone just 6-13-1 ATS in their last 20 games following a S.U. win, but the home team has gone 8-1 the last 9 in the series. The Bulldogs have not been a good offensive team this year, ranking 301st in scoring (62.0 ppg), 225th in shooting (42.7%), 300th in 3 point shooting (30.9%) and 149th in FT shooting (69.8%). Defensively the Bulldogs have been solid, ranking 78th in points allowed (62.3 ppg), 101st in defensive FG% (41.1%) and 55th in 3 point defense (31.3%). 

Pick: I will go with the Under here. Mississippi state home games have averaged just 123 ppg this year and i feel that they will really have to slow the game down it they hope to upset their state rivals. Both teams have played solid defense of late as the Rebels have allowed just 63.4 ppg in their last 5 games, while the Bulldogs have allowed just 61.1 ppg at home and 64.6 ppg in their last 5 games. I see this one just being played at just above 130 points.
