The Minnesota Golden Gophers and Michigan State Spartans take to the floor tonight in Big Ten College Basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the Big Ten Network. Currently the College Basketball Odds for the game have the Spartans favored to pick up the win at home.

Michigan State is a half-game back of tying Maryland in the Big Ten standings. Maryland swept Michigan State in the pair of games so far this season, but Tom Izzo's club has continued to plow through their schedule. Sparty would also snag a 20th win for the campaign if they are able to beat the Gophers in this one tonight.

Minnesota looked like a potential NCAA Tournament team at times this season, but with just a 5-10 record in Big Ten play this season, they're going to have to win the conference tournament. Losing each of the last three games overall didn't help either. Playing conference leader Wisconsin and Michigan State in three straight games on top of that makes it even worse. 

MSU has won four in a row and six of their last seven games overall. They end the season with some tough battles though, including road trips to Wisconsin and Indiana within the next 10 days. Denzel Valentine has been playing very well and is coming off a 20-point, 9-rebound performance in a big win at Illinois last game. Both Travis Trice and Brenden Dawson give Michigan State options on the offensive end and all three are solid defenders.

Michigan State has sputtered at times this season, but Izzo has the Spartans playing very well right now. Another 20-win season will see them earn an NCAA berth and they cruise tonight at home.
