College Basketball Betting Odds Michigan State Spartans vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish

NCAA basketball on Wednesday night and we will see the Michigan State Spartans travel to South Bend, Indiana to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish as part of the ACC/Big 10 Challenge. The game has a start time of 7:`5 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN 2. Vegas odds have the Fighting Irish listed as 3 point favorites, while the total sits at 137.

Analysis: The Michigan State Spartans come in to this game at 5-2 on the year, wit their 2 losses being vs Kansas and Duke. No shame in losing to those 2 powerhouses. The Spartans are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. loss, but just 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 non-conference games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. Atlantic Coast. Michigan State has been decent on offense so far, ranking 99th in scoring (73.3 ppg), 40th in shooting, 21st in 3-point shooting and 264th in FT shooting. The Spartans always play solid defense and so far that is holding true as they come in ranked 67th in points allowed (59.7 ppg), 49th in defensive FG% and 86th in 3-point defense.

The Irish come in at 6-1 on the year, including a perfect 5-0 mark at home. Their lone loss of the year came in the form of a 1 point loss vs Providence on a neutral court. Notre Dame is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following a SU win of more than 20 points, but just 6-19-2 ATS in their last 27 home games and  4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Irish haven't played a tough schedule, so their offensive numbers may be a bit skewed. The Irish come in 10th in scoring (86.3 ppg), 1st in FG% and 14th in 3-point shooting. The defensive numbers have looked good as well, ranking 31st in scoring (56.9 ppg), 50th in FG% against and 32nd in 3-point defense.

Pick:   Le's take a shot at the Over in this game. Both teas don't really slow the pace, while both teams score and shoot very well. This also should be a rather close game, so we may see a fouling game at the end or even OT. The Over is 8-0 in Notre Dame's last 8 games following a SU win of more than 20 points and 11-5 in their last 16 non-conference games. Both teams should hit 70+ points in what should be a very entertaining game.
