The Iowa State Cyclones take on the Kansas State Wildcats tonight in Big 12 College Basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Currently the College Basketball Betting Odds for the game have the Cyclones favored by a couple of buckets in this one.

Iowa State just had a tough loss against Baylor earlier this week. The loss to the Bears was the first for Iowa State on their own floor this season and now they have to travel to take on a Kansas State team that just knocked off Kansas. 

Kansas State has gone just 1-9 this season in road games, but they have been pretty good on their own floor. The style of basketball they'll want to play today against Iowa State is slower than the Cyclones want to play and Kansas State has won two straight over ISU in Manhattan. Iowa State comes into this game today averaging almost 80 points a game, Kansas State comes in scoring just 63 points themselves. 

The Cyclones know the game won't be easy, but they still have a chance to run down Kansas in the conference standings. Iowa State and West Virginia are both 10-5 in conference play this season, Kansas is 11-4 overall. The Big 12 has proven all season that they are arguably the best conference in college basketball and Kansas has been the class of the conference for many years, but this season could be different. 

Georges Niang leads the team in scoring at almost 15 points per game, but the Cyclones have six players averaging double digits per game. Offensively Iowa State has been very good all season, but on the defensive end they have struggled at times. Today they're going to have to play well on both ends of the floor in order to get a road win.

Kansas State has three guys in double digits with Marcus Foster leading the way with 13.1 points per game. Both Nino Williams and Thomas Gipson are at least 10 points per game as well and Kansas State will look to stay in the half-court set today.

That won't be easy, especially if Iowa State builds a decent lead. Look for the Cyclones to get out in transition, connect on free throws in the second half and pick up the win on the road.
