College Basketball Betting Odds Georgia Bulldogs vs Kentucky Wildcats Free Pick

Tuesday college basketball and we will see the Georgia Bulldogs travel to Rupp Arena to take on the Kentucky Wildcats. The game has a start time of 7:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN U. Current Vegas betting odds have Kentucky listed as 18 point favorites, while the total is set at 124.

Analysis:  The Georgia Bulldogs come in as the surprise of the SEC so far. Georgia just lost a 60-57 game at South Carolina, but still they are 5-2 in the SEC and have won 5 of their last 6 games and they have gone 4-3 in true road games this year. Georgia has gone 8-2-2 ATS in their last 12 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games following a ATS loss, but just 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in the series. The Bulldogs have been a solid offensive team this year, ranking 95th in scoring (71.2 ppg), 115th in shooting (44.7%), 114th in 3 point shooting (35.6%) and 196th in FT shooting (68.4%). Defensively the Bulldogs have been rather average, ranking 161st in points allowed (65.5 ppg), 36th in defensive FG% (38.9%) and 55th in 3 point defense (30.9%).

The Kentucky Wildcats are now the lone unbeaten team in the nation after they beat Alabama over the weekend and Virginia lost to Duke. The Cats now have a firm grasp on the top ranking in the nation, with a 21-0 record that includes an 8-0 mark in the SEC and a 14-0 mark at home. The home team is 4-0 the last 4 meetings, while the favorite is 4-1 the last 5 in the series. Kentucky has been a good offensive team this year, ranking 45th in scoring (74.1 ppg), 64th in shooting (46.1%), 102nd in 3 point shooting (36.1%) and 178th in FT shooting (69.0%). Defensively the Cats have been excellent, ranking 2nd in points allowed (50.7 ppg), 1st in defensive FG% (32.5%) and 6th in 3 point defense (26.9%).

Pick: Going with the Under here. Georgia has looked to push tempo a bit more this year, but they will be going up against a very tough Kentucky defense that gets back very well to keep teems from running. The Cats have allowed just 50.7 ppg on the year, including just 51.6 ppg at home and 48.8 ppg in their last 6 games. Georgia has not been great on offense of late as they have averaged just 66.8 ppg in their last 5 games and I fully expect the Cats to keep them in the lower 50s here. Defensively the Bulldogs have been very solid of late, as they have not allowed more than 67 points in any of their last 6 games, while allowing just 64 ppg in their last 5 games. Kentucky does average 76.7 ppg at home, but still this is a very inconsistent offensive team and I feel the Bulldogs will slow them down enough to keep this game from put up more than 120 points. The Under is 20-6-1 in Kentucky's last 27 home games and I expect that trend to continue here.
