Cincinnati Reds vs St. Louis Cardinals MLB Odds, Start Time

The NL Central leading Cincinnati Reds will shoot for their third series win of the season when they battle the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium later this evening. Start time in tonight’s divisional showdown between the Reds and Cardinals is set for 8:15pm ET. The latest MLB Odds have St. Louis listed as a -113 moneyline favorite ($113 wins $100) and a +175 run line dog (-1.5). The Over/Under in tonight’s game is set at 8.5 runs; the Under is presently favored at -120 odds.

Cincinnati improved to 5-2 last night and took a two game lead over the second place Cardinals with a 13-4 series opening win against St. Louis. The score was tied 4-4 heading into the final frame, but the Reds blew the game open with a nine run ninth inning.

Bronson Arroyo can only hope for the same kind of run support tonight as he makes his second start of the season. Arroyo earned a win in his first appearance after limiting the Angels to three runs over six innings in a 5-4 Reds victory on April 4th.

Arroyo is 8-13 in 33 career appearances against the Cardinals with a 4.56 ERA. He last faced St. Louis on October 1st, 2012 when he yielded six hits and three earned runs over five innings in a 4-2 loss at Busch Stadium.

Countering Arroyo for the Cards is right handed hurler Lance Lynn. Lynn got roughed up for six hits and four earned runs over four innings in his first start of the season, a 9-10 loss at Arizona. For his career he is 0-0 with a 7.50 ERA in four appearances (one start) opposite Cincinnati; however, Lynn owns a 9-5 record with a 3.13 ERA in 23 outings (13 starts) at Busch Stadium.

The Reds, who won their 2012 season series with St. Louis 9-6, are 3-4 in their last seven meetings with the Cardinals.

Notable Trends: The Cardinals are 8-2 in their last 10 games as a home favorite in the month of April with a total between 8.5 and 9 runs (The Under was 9-1 in those same 10 games).

Cincinnati Reds vs St. Louis Cardinals MLB Odds:

Cincinnati Reds +1.5 (-210), Over 8.5 (+100), +103 (Moneyline)

St. Louis Cardinals -1.5 (+175), Under 8.5 (-120), -113 (Moneyline)
