Chicago White Sox at Detroit Tigers Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Detroit Tigers welcome in the Chicago White Sox again tonight in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for a 7:08 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv. Currently the odds for the game have the Tigers favored to pick up the win in this one at home.

Detroit dropped a tough game yesterday, getting the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th but unable to scratch across another run. The Tigers have not been consistent at all this season, they now sit just one game over the .500 mark at 37-36. Detroit is actually a game below the .500 mark at Comerica Park as well as nothing seems to be working correctly for them, even in their own park.

The panic button will be getting pushed soon if the Tigers can't get this straightened out. Today they will give the baseball to Anibal Sanchez, who has picked up victories in three straight starts. He's also shutout opponents in 20 2/3 consecutive innings at home. Sanchez is just 6-7 for the year but has a 1.14 ERA in his recent three-game winning streak.

Current White Sox have had success against him, though, clubbing an average of .339 against him in 171 plate appearances. Melky Cabrera owns a .519 average against him with 14 hits in 27 at bats, Jose Abreu had five hits in eight at bats.

Chicago will start Jose Quintana, he's 3-7 with a 3.92 ERA. He's lost twice to the Tigers this season in three starts against them, combining to throwing 16 combined innings, allowing 23 hits and surrendering 14 earned runs, his lone start at Comerica this year accounting for most of those numbers. Back on April 19 Quintana threw four innings, gave up nine earned runs on 10 hits while giving up two home runs.

The Tigers have been able to hit lefties well, a solid start for Sanchez will lead them to the win.

Movie Stop the All-Star Game Ballot Stuffing

Pro handicappers Teddy Covers and Steve Fezzik have a bone to pick with MLB Commisioner Bud Selig, who decided the All-Star exhibition game will determine World Series home field advantage. With Royals fans currently voting seven Kansas City players into the starting line up of the American League team, this popularity-based roster of an exhibition game which has way too much impact on the most important baseball series of the year.
