The Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs will square off tonight in an East versus West clash at the AT&T Center. This evening’s scrap between the Spurs and Bulls has a scheduled start time of 9:00pm ET on ESPN. NBA Odds are favoring the hosting Spurs at -8 against the spread; the Over/Under in tonight’s game is set at 191 points.
The Bulls have been a better road than home team this season (17-12 to 17-14), but they face a tall order tonight in San Antonio. Yes, the Spurs are banged up with Tony Parker on the shelf (ankle), but they are still a formidable opponent, especially at the AT&T Center.
San Antonio is 24-3 at home and also well rested after sitting out on Monday and Tuesday. Prior to their brief respite, the Spurs won back to back home games, whipping the Kings 130-102 on Friday and the Pistons 114-75 on Sunday.
San Antonio is not too far removed from statement road win against Chicago either. The Spurs, playing without Parker, Tim Duncan, and Manu Ginobili, thrashed the Bulls 103-89 at the United Center on February 11th. Kawhi Leonard led San Antonio, which shot 52 percent from the field, with 16 points on 11-of-18 shooting.
Chicago, despite its respectable away mark, has found life on the road less inviting of late. The Bulls are 2-3 in their last five games outside the United Center, losing to the Celtics, Thunder, and Pacers by an average of 12.3 points per game. Chicago averaged a paltry 77.6 points per contest in those three setbacks.
Notable Trends: The Spurs are 10-0 straight up and 7-2-1 against the spread in their last 10 games as a home favorite with a spread between 8 and 10.5 points. San Antonio is 47-4 straight up and 33-16-2 against the spread over the last two years playing as a home favorite coming off a home win.
