The Miami Heat’s quest for history continues tonight as they welcome the Charlotte Bobcats to the AmericanAirlines Arena. Start time in this evening’s NBA TV contest is set for 6:00pm ET. According to the latest NBA Odds, the Heat, who have won 25 straight games, have little to fear tonight. Miami is listed as a -17 against the spread home favorite while the game total is set at 199 points.
Miami has flirted with disaster on a few occasions during its current winning streak, and, surprisingly, most of its near misses came against poor competition. The Heat left little to chance when they took the court Friday against the Pistons, though.
Miami bumped Detroit 103-89 to record its 25th consecutive win and improve to 31-3 at the AmericanAirlines Arena. LeBron James had 29 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists for the Heat, who shot 55.9 percent from the field and 53.3 percent from beyond the arc as a team.
Charlotte, which provided an unexpected challenge for Miami when the two clubs hooked up in South Florida on February 4th (lost 99-94), comes into tonight’s contest off a 92-91 home loss to the aforementioned Pistons.
Prior to yesterday’s loss to Detroit, the Bobcats recorded back to back wins for the first time since late November. Charlotte, which is 3-3 in its last six games, downed Washington and Toronto at home after scoring an uncharacteristic 226 points.
The Bobcats can probably wave goodbye to their recent success tonight given their history against the Heat. Miami is 10-0 in its last 10 meetings with Charlotte and it has won its last four home games against the Bobcats by an average of 19 points per contest.
Notable Trends: The Bobcats are 0-5 straight up and 1-4 against the spread this season when playing as a road dog in the second of back to back games and off a road loss.
Charlotte Bobcats vs Miami Heat NBA Odds:
Charlotte Bobcats +17 (-110), Over 199 (-110)
Miami Heat -17 (-110), Under 199 (-110)
