Central Michigan Chippewas at UNLV Runnin Rebels, Odds

CFB Saturday and we will see the Central Michigan Chippewas travel west to take on the UNLV Runnin Rebels. The start time is 10:00 pm (Eastern) and the game will be televised on the Mountain West Network. Current Odds have UNLV listed as 7 point favorites, while the total sits at 56.

Analysis: The Chippewas were destroyed in their first game of the season 59-9 at the hands of 17th-ranked Michigan, but they did bounce back with a 324-21 win over FCS foe New Hampshire last week. The Chippewas trailed by 2 Tds in the 4th quarter to New Hampshire, before QB Cooper Rush threw TD passes of 20 and 97 yards to tie the game. Then Ron Coluzzi knocked through a 27-yard field goal as time expired to give the hosts the thrilling win. Cooper Rush finished the afternoon with 326 yards through the air, leading to a total of three Tds. the Chippewas have permitted their two opponents to convert close to 52 percent of their third- down attempts, an effort that ranks CMU 110th in the nation. They do have a couple of stars on the defensive side of the ball, with Justin Cherocci posting 13 tackles, one sack and two forced fumbles, while Kavon Frazier had both an interception and a fumble recovery for the home team in the win over New Hampshire.

Dating back to last year, the UNLV Runnin Rebels have now lost 5 straight games, after starting this year 0-2. The Rebels came into the year with high hopes of possibly making a run at a bowl game, but they really haven't been all that competitive thus far, losing by 28 to Minnesota in the opener and then by 45 points to Arizona last week. UNLV quarterback Nick Sherry did have three of his passes go for touchdowns last week, but unfortunately two of those were interceptions returned by Arizona. Sherry completed just 6-of-22 passes for 111 yards and was pulled at the half in favor of Caleb Herring who converted just 3-of-5 for another 14 yards and was sacked once during the onslaught. A bright spot for UNLV was Tim Cornett's 62 rushing yards on 15 attempts, which gives him 2,591 yards for his career and moves him to fourth on the school's all- time rushing list. The UNLV defense was to be much improved as Bobby Hauck brought in his brother Tim to run the defense. It hasn't helped as UNLV ranks 122nd in the nation with a massive 54.5 ppg allowed. UNLV leads the all-time series by a count of 2-1.

Pick:  Gonna be brief here. I will go win the Under in this one. Couple of very week offenses will not be able to score on a couple of bad defenses. High 40's at best in this one.
