This season appeared to be a make or break one for Carolina Panthers Head Coach Ron Rivera, and it that were truly the case, he will most definitely retain his position. Rivera's club out-performed even the loftiest of expectations, closing out the season with a 12-4 record, NFC South title, and a hold on the two seed in the NFC Playoffs. Now the Panthers enter the postseason as a strong contender for the Lombardi. According to the latest 2014 Super Bowl Odds from Sportsbook.com, Carolina is a fifth pick to win the championship at +1000 odds ($100 wins $100). The Panthers are also tied with San Francisco as a second choice to win the NFC Championship Game at +450 odds.
Carolina hardly had the look of Super Bowl contender through the first quarter of the season as its 1-3 record had some speculating whether or not Rivera would finish out the year, but the team experienced a startling turnaround following its week five loss at Arizona.
The Panthers went on to win 11 of their next 12 games, beating potential Lombardi contenders San Francisco, New England, and New Orleans along the way. There is a decent chance Carolina will get another crack at the Niners in next weekend's divisional round.

To Win Super Bowl XLVIII +1000 (five of 12)
