The Third Round of the British Open gets underway on Saturday morning from the Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Course in St. Annes, England. The British Open Tiger Woods Third Round Tee Time is set for Saturday morning at 10:10 a.m. EST. Coverage will be held LIVE on ESPN beginning at 7 a.m. EST. Currently American Brandt Snedeker holds the lead with a total score of 10-under par. Woods is just four shots off the lead and currently sits in third place.
Snedeker had missed his previous three cuts at The Open Championship but now leads the 2012 tournament by a shot over Adam Scott, who sits at 9-under par after two rounds. The two will be paired together for the third round on Saturday. Snedeker's score of 10-under par registers at 130 shots after the first two full rounds, tying him with the best first two rounds at the Open Championship with Nick Faldo for the lowest 36-hole score in Open history. Tiger Woods is not far behind the leader as he holed out from a bunker on the 18th green to finish with a second straight 3-under par round of 67.
The cut for the tournament was closed at 3-over par after the first two rounds. Players such as Tom Watson, who sunk a lengthy birdie putt on 18 to finish 3-over par, narrowly made the cut. Lee Westwood also finished at 3-over par for the first three rounds and will be playing on the weekend. Westwood was considered to be one of the favorites coming into the tournament but has fallen on some hard times, currently sitting 13 shots off the Snedeker lead. There is an American player in each of the last four pairings for Saturday with Woods, Snedeker, Matt Kuchar and Jason Dufner all in the hunt for the Open Championship crown. An American has won each of the last three Major tournaments with Bubba Watson winning the Master's this year, Webb Simpson winning the U.S. Open and Keegan Bradley winning the PGA Championship last season.
