Bowling Green Falcons vs Miami Redhawks Start Time, Odds, Free PIck

Mac football on Tuesday night and we will see the Buffalo Bulls travel to Oxford, Ohio to take on the Miami Redhawks. The game has a start time of 8:00 pm (Eastern) and be will televised on ESPN U. Vegas odds have Buffalo listed as 24.5 point favorites, while the total sits at 49.

Analysis: The Buffalo Bulls will battle Bowling Green next week for the right to go to the MAC Title game, but first they must take on the hapless Miami Redhawks. The Bulls are 7-3 on the year and 5-1 in the MAC and come in off a tough 51-41 loss to Toledo last week. The Bulls have the fifth-best scoring offense (31.9 ppg) and total offense (406.9 ypg) in the conference. The Bulls rely on star tailback Branden Oliver, who is the most productive back in the conference and ranks fifth nationally in rushing yards per game (136.1). Oliver is not the only Buffalo player among the FBS leaders as WR Alex Neutz is tied for fifth in the nation with 11 receiving touchdowns this season. On defense the Bulls are 49th overall and 40th in points allowed, allowing 23.7 ppg. Those numbers would be much better had they not faced Ohio State and Baylor to start the year. A win over Miami would give Buffalo a sixth league victory, which would set a new single-season school record.

The Miami Redhawks have been dreadful this year, going 0-10 on the year and they have been outscored by 23.3 ppg in the process. The RedHawks are ranked last among the 123 FBS programs in both scoring offense (9.6 ppg) and total offense (222.9 ypg). A big part of tat is an inefficient running ground game that has just 961 rushing yards on the season, at 2.6 yards per pop. Austin Boucher is the QB, but he has had his struggles this year, completing just 48.4% of his passes for 1036 yards, with 7 Tds and 8 INTs. Miami ranks 120th in the nation in passing and 118th in rushing. The Redhawks defense has also been a disappointment, as it permits averages of 470.9 yards and 32.9 points per contest.

Pick: I will be going with the Under in this one. Maim averages just 9.6 ppg on the year and I do not expect more than 7 points in this one vs a Buffalo defense that has been very good for much of the year. The Bulls allowed Toledo 51 points last week, but prior to that game they had allowed just 8.8 ppg in their previous 6 games. You can bet that this defense is angry after the poor showing vs the Rockets. On offense the bulls have been solid this year but they are not an explosive offense, but more of a methodical offense that will use clock. I also look for Buffalo to really play conservative should they get up big as expected as they have a huge game on deck with Bowling Green, in a game that will decide who will move on to the MAC title game. Buffalo won't need allot of offense t win this game and that should really keep the scoring down. 31-7 sounds about right.
