ALDS Game 2 Boston Red Sox at Cleveland Indians Start Time, MLB Playoff Odds

The Cleveland Indians are hosting the Boston Red Sox today in Game 2 of their ALDS series. The game is scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on TBS. The MLB Playoff Odds for the game have the Indians favored to pick up the win at home.

Boston nearly came back from a deficit in Thursday’s opening game to the series, but was unable to. Now the Red Sox are looking to find a way to split the opening two games of the series on the road, which could give them a big boost heading back to Beantown.

Cleveland got solid hitting early in the game, getting two straight home runs from Jason Kipnis and Francisco Lindor. Cleveland went on to win 5-4 in that game and got some solid pitching from the bullpen as Andrew Miller, Bryan Shaw and Cody Allen combined to throw 4 1/3 innings while allowing just one run. Boston made it interesting at times, but wasn’t able to come up with enough clutch hits to claw back and win.

In tonight’s game, David Price (17-9, 3.99 ERA) throws for the Red Sox, looking to make an impact for Boston after a huge free agent signing in the off-season. Price struck out 228 hitters this season and made 18 road starts, posting a record of 8-6 with a 3.88 ERA in those starts. Price made a start in Cleveland back on April 5, a six-inning start where he struck out 10 and allowed two earned runs. Price has allowed current Indians to hit .235 against him covering 255 at bats, he’s only given up three home runs in that time.

The Indians are throwing their best in Corey Kluber, he went 18-9 with a 3.14 ERA and had to help carry the team as the Indians suffered some injuries to the rotation. He made a couple of starts against the Red Sox this season, losing to Price on April 5 while allowing nine hits and four earned runs in just over five innings of work. On May 20 Kluber threw seven innings against the Red Sox and picked up a win.

This should be another strong contest and one Boston can win. If the Red Sox can get a victory in Cleveland, it changes the series.
