The Boston College Eagles travel to take on the Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday in College Football action. The preview for the game shows it has a start time of 3:30 pm EST and it will be televised live on the Big Ten Network. The odds for the game show the Wildcats are favored over Boston College by just 3.5 points.

Northwestern has gotten out to a 2-0 overall record on the young season and they've had some crazy finishes. They went down to the wire in the opening week of the season, coming from behind late in the contest to beat Syracuse on the road. Then, last week the Cardiac Cats bested Vanderbilt, picking up a 23-13 win at home. Northwestern was able to cover the number in both of those first two games.

Boston College, on the other hand, is just 1-1 (1-1 ATS) on the season. They've already played (and lost) a game in the ACC standings to Miami the opening week. In last week's game they were able to beat up on Maine, 34-3. As mentioned in just about every one of these we do, turnovers have been critical for Northwestern. The Cats are at +4 in the turnover department through their first two games this season while Boston College sits at -1. Northwestern is, however, giving up a lot of points so far this year at a clip of 27 per contest.

This game is the first time Northwestern is being favored on the young season. BC quarterback Chase Rettig has put up some impressive numbers so far, throwing for 660 yards and five touchdowns through his first two games. Boston College still hasn't been able to establish a good ground game this season, rushing for just 3.6 yards per carry. Northwestern isn't much better at just 3.7 yards per attempt. Wildcat QB Kain Colter is banged up and probably still will play. He helped guide the Cats to a win last season at BC.

Here's a key number to look at: The Wildcats have only been favored 16 times since the 2009 season and are just 4-12 in that span. In addition to that, Pat Fitzgerald is just 8-20 as a favorite of Northwestern in his time there. Both could come into play again in today's game as Northwestern is getting a lot of public bets based on being a home team and having played two better opponents than Maine.

Free Pick: We like BC to cover in this one. Northwestern has given up a lot of yards through the air, 7 yards per completion, so far this year. Rettig could light them up for more yards in this contest. BC seems like a scrappy team and if they can move the ball and not turn it over, we think they can keep this one tight.
