The Ohio State Buckeyes play host to the Penn State Nittany Lions in Big Ten College Basketball action tonight. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the Big Ten Network. Currently the Betting Odds for the game have the Buckeyes favored by a comfortable margin to beat up on the Nittany Lions.

Penn State has one of the best players in the country in D.J. Newbill, but the Nittany Lions aren't a good basketball team. Penn State has picked up 15 wins on the year, but are just 3-8 in Big Ten play, including going 3-5 their last eight games overall. They are coming off a solid win at home over a withering Nebraska team that opened the season ranked inside the Top 25, but has really fallen on hard times.

Ohio State has one of the best players in the country as well, freshman D'Angelo Russell. While Newbill leads the conference in scoring at 20.9 points per game, Russell is right behind him at 19.5 per contest. Russell also hands out better than five assists per game and shoots better than 44 percent from downtown. He also leads the Buckeyes in rebounding this season. Russell is obviously a great talent that just notched a triple-double against Rutgers and he has helped the Buckeyes reach some nice heights so far this season, currently tied for second in the clustered Big Ten standings.

The Buckeyes have been dominant in home games as well, winning 15 of their 16 contests there this season. Penn State on the road — awful, going just 2-6 with the wins coming over Bucknell and Marshall. The Nittany Lions are going to have to have a monster game tonight in order to hang around in this one and Newbill alone won't win them the game.

Russell has a nice supporting cast, the team shoots better than 50 percent from the floor and the combination of Sam Thompson and Shannon Scott make them a really tough team. Look for the Buckeyes to roll in this game over the poor Nittany Lions.
