Big 12 Tournament Semifinals Baylor Bears vs Kansas Jayhawks Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Baylor Bears and Kansas Jayhawks meet up tonight in the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Currently the College Basketball Betting Odds for the game have the Jayhawks favored by a point in this closely-contested game according to the oddsmakers.

Kansas has not been the same team without Perry Ellis and Cliff Alexander. The Jayhawks got by TCU in a close game yesterday to open their Big 12 Tournament, getting the best game from the Horned Frogs.

Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 25 points for Kansas in that win yesterday but the bench only contributed seven. Baylor is a team that will look to beat you up while still getting out in transition and foul trouble could be a major impact on today’s game. With Kansas already missing a pair of great players the Jayhawks are a bit thin, so Baylor should look to keep this game down on the blocks.

Baylor shot 51 percent in yesterday’s win over West Virginia but only made four of 14 triple attempts. Three starters got into double digits, led by Royce O’Neale with 16 points while Rico Gathers added 15 points and nine rebounds. Gathers is one of the best rebounders in the country and if Kansas is without Ellis and Alexander, Gathers could have a big game.

Bill Self’s team has beaten Baylor in four straight games but it’s going to take a much better effort tonight compared to what the Jayhawks showed on Thursday.

Baylor can force Kansas into taking shots from the perimeter as well. Kansas has really struggled from downtown, going just 1-of-8 against Texas, 0-of-15 against West Virginia, 5-of-15 against Oklahoma and didn’t make a single three against TCU in eight attempts. That’s a combined 6-of-46 the past four games, good for just 13 percent. If Baylor can force Kansas into playing a perimeter game, the Bears can win this one.

Free Pick: Baylor 70, Kansas 65
