College Basketball Betting Odds Wisconsin Badgers vs Nebraska Cornhuskers Free Pick

Tuesday night college basketball and the Wisconsin Badgers will travel to Pinnacle Bank Arena to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The game has a start time of 9:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN. Current Vegas betting odds have Wisconsin listed as 9 point favorites, while the total is set at 121.

Analysis: The Wisconsin Badgers come in having won 6 in a row since their lone loss in Big 12 play at Rutgers. The Badgers are now ranked 5th in the nation with a 21-2 record overall, while leading the Big 10 with a 9-1 record. Wisconsin has gone 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600, but just 4-101-1 ATS their last 15 vs the Big 10. The Badgers have been a very solid offensive squad this year, ranking 42nd in scoring (74.0 ppg), 18th in shooting (48.6%), 106th in 3 point shooting (35.91%) and 11th in FT shooting (75.9%). The defense for this team has been very good as they come in ranked 11th in points allowed (56.2 ppg), 122nd in defensive FG% (41.6%) and 289th in 3 point defense (36.5%).

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have lost 3 of their last 4 games to fall to 13-10 overall and just 5-6 in the Big 10. The Huskers have played well at home where they are 10-3, including 5-1 at home in Big 10 play, compared to going 0-5 on the road in the Big 10.  Nebraska has gone 24-9-1 ATS in their last 34 home games and 19-8-1 ATS in their last 28 vs. the Big Ten, but 4-12-1 ATS in their last 17 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Nebraska has not been a good offensive team this year as they come in ranked 283rd in scoring (62.8 ppg), 220th in shooting (42.7%), 325th in 3 point shooting (29.5%) and 59th in FT shooting (72.2%). Defensively the Tigers have been very solid, ranking 57th in points allowed (60.9 ppg), 40th in defensive FG% (39.1%) and 69th in 3 point defense (31.5%).

Pick: Going with the Over here. Yes the Cornhuskers have averaged just 56.8 ppg in their last 5 games, but a closer look shows that they scored in the 40s in all 3 road games in that stretch, while in their two home games they scored 76 and 79 points and that was vs a slow down team in Northwestern and a very solid defensive team in Michigan State. Yes the Badgers are a very good defense team and they do allowed just 57.1 ppg, but I can see Nebraska hitting at least that mark in this one. For the Badgers this year they have not been all about defense as this team has been able to score as well. The Badgers have scored 70.9 ppg on the road this year and 76.4 ppg in their last 5 games, plus they have scored 71.7 ppg in their last 3 games vs the Huskers. The Over is 11-3 in Wisconsin's last 13 vs teh Big 10 and I expect that to continue here. 68-59 sounds like a good score here.
