The North Carolina State Wolfpack are taking on the Clemson Tigers in the opening round of the ACC Tournament on Tuesday. This is the opening game of the ACC Tournament, pitting the 12th-seeded Clemson Tigers and the 13th-seeded NC State Wolfpack. The winner of the game will advance to take on Duke, the fifth seed. Odds are the loser of this game will probably miss the post season completely, though it’s possible Clemson will still get some sort of chance.
NC State fired Mark Gottfried during the regular season and this could be his final game. The Wolfpack won just four games in conference this season and despite Gottfried taking NC State to multiple Sweet 16 appearances, he will be looking for a job.
These teams played just once this season, it came last week where Clemson earned a 78-74 victory. The Tigers poured in 41 second-half points in that game en route to the win. That should give Clemson a bit of an advantage in this one, but don’t be surprised if NC State plays tough for their head coach.
