The surging 24th ranked Virginia Tech Hokies will chase their sixth straight win tomorrow when they meet new Coastal Division rival Pittsburgh at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Virginia. Saturday's clash between the Panthers and Hokies is scheduled to kickoff at 12:00pm ET on ESPNU. Florida State and Clemson are the talk of the ACC and deservedly so, but Virginia Tech is quietly working its way into the conference championship picture. The Hokies currently sit atop the Coastal Division standings with a 2-0 and they have reeled off five straight wins since their season opening loss to Alabama.
Virginia Tech is in no way as flashy as its aforementioned Atlantic Division counterparts, but its defense is one of the best in the country.

Pittsburgh comes into this game off a bye, but it won three straight prior to its break, knocking off New Mexico, Duke, and Virginia by an average of 12 points per game.
The Panthers offense looked scintillating in wins over the Lobos and Blue Devils, posting 107 points and 1125 yards, but it struggled in a week one clash with Florida State and in its pre-bye meeting with Virginia. Pitt tallied 16 points and 496 in those two outings and was fortunate to earn a split.
Unfortunately for the Panthers, Virginia Tech's defense more closely resembles that of the Seminoles and Cavaliers.
The Hokies offense is far from explosive, but it will not need to be to separate in this contest. Look for Tech's defense to shut the Panthers down, helping the team notch its sixth consecutive win.
