The Green Bay Packers are taking on the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL Hall of Fame Game Sunday night. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The NFL Odds for the game have the Colts listed as a small favorite to pick up the win.
Line: Colts -3
Total: 34 points
The Hall of Fame Game signifies the beginning of the NFL season moving forward. While the preseason can be hit or miss when it comes to popularity, the Hall of Fame Game is great for those that have been starving for some football.
Brett Favre is being enshrined in the Hall of Fame the night prior, as is former Colts coach Tony Dungy along with wide receiver Marvin Harrison. It should be a fantastic event the day before the game.
In these games the typical starters for the season don’t get a lot of playing time. There’s notable reasons for that — avoiding injury, seeing depth of team, etc. — but they should play just enough to keep it interesting early on. Both quarterbacks (Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck) are hoping for big seasons this year and it would be nice to see either, or both, play at least a bit in this contest.
With each team looking to figure it out and get into a groove, the offenses should struggle a bit here.
