2015 New York Jets Preview Win Total Odds Schedule

The New York Jets had a miserable 2014, in which they went just 4-12 on the year. That prompted the firing of Rex Ryan, but still Vegas isn't looking for a winning year from this team as their Win Total has been set at 7.5 (0 -145). Vegas Odds have the Jets listed at +500 to win the AFC East Title, +2200 to win the AFC Championship and +5500 to win Superbowl 50. Let’s preview the New York Jets, along with their 2015 Schedule.

Last year the Jets ranked 28th in the league in scoring, at 17.7 ppg, while also ranking 22nd in total yards (326.6 ypg), 32nd in passing (184.1 ypg) and 3rd in rushing (142.5 ypg). The last couple years this has been one of the worst offenses in the league, but this year they look to be much improved. The Running game has always been a strength of this team and this year will be no exception, as they have added Stevan Ridley and Zac Stacy, to go along with Chris Ivory. The Jets have a deep backfield, but i feel they won't have to rely on the run as much as they did in the past. Geno Smith should get the nod at QB, but he will have competition in Ryan Fitzpatrick. Whoever gets the call they will have an upgraded WR corps to throw to, as they have added Brandon Marshall to go along with Erik Dekker and Jeremy Kerley. This unit also has depth. The OL is once again a strength of the offense and is led by Nick Mangold, who is considered one of the best OL in the league. The running game will be there once again for the Jets, but I look for a more balanced attack as the passing game should be improved.

Defensively, the Jets ranked 25th in points allowed (25.1 ppg), 6th in yards allowed (327.2 ypg), 14th vs the pass (234.1 ypg) and 5th vs the run (93.1). The Jet defense was much better that their 25.1 ppg allowed, as the offense contributed greatly to the points allowed, but throwing pick-sixes and by setting up their defense in very poor field position. In reality this was a very god defense that ranked 6th in the league in yards allowed. They were middle of the pack in terms of pass defense, but that has been addressed by the signing of Darrelle Revis, who is back with Antonio Cromartie. They were very good together in the past.  The DL was very stout last year as the Jets were 5th vs the run and that has been bolstered with the addition of Leonard Williams, who was probably the best defensive player in the draft. The Linebacking corps is solid, but it is the weakest of the 3 units on defense. Overall this defense should finish in the top 5 in yards allowed, while their points allowed should be much fewer than the 25 ppg they gave up last year as the offense will not be as bad and will not put the defense in many tough situations. This is one of the best defenses in the league.

The hiring of Todd Bowles will be a huge plus for this team, as Rex Ryan just totally lost the respect of his players and it showed on the field. The Jets have been upgraded at the skill positions, so it will be up to Geno Smith to get the job done and I feel he can. I expect Todd to open up the offense some, which will make Geno more comfortable. Last year tyhe offense gave up too many points, but I don't see that happening this year. Geno will show that he is an NFL caliber QB. The Defense has a chance to be the best in the league and without the offense putting them in bad positions they should shine much more than last year. The team went just 4-12 last year and this year's win total is 7.5. I will call for them to miss the playoffs, but they should squeak over that win total with 8 wins on the year.

Free NFL Betting Pick: Minnesota Vikings at San Francisco 49ers
It may be June, but this Monday Night Football bet is already a hot commodity with bettors jumping to bet against the San Francisco 49ers. Pro bettor Steve Fezzik loves the Vikings at +3 here, and says this bet is one you want to run, not walk to get before the number before this three-star bet disappears. With Adrian Peterson back, Teddy Bridgewater maturing, and the 49ers imploding, this is a perfect spot to fade a bad team and bet big on an underrated team this 2015 NFL season.
