The 2015 NBA All-Star Game will be played later tonight with some of the best players in the game taking to the floor. The game is scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on TNT. Currently the Betting Odds for the game have the West favored by a couple of buckets in this annual contest.
The NBA All-Star Game is always the best of the professional sport exhibition games. Historically the best players in the game take part in this annual contest, but in this game several players won't be on the floor as they are battling injuries. Both Carmelo Anthony and Kobe Bryant were voted in to start the game. Anthony has stated tonight's game could possibly be the last one for him this season. Many consider him playing in tonight's game but not playing the rest of the season as a poor attitude problem, but the Knicks are the worst team in basketball.
Madison Square Garden is the most recognized arena in the world and this is the first time the All-Star Game will be played there since 1998.
The West team has won three of the last five All-Star Games overall, but they did fall 163-155 last season in a game that saw Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin each pour in 38. Both guys played 30-plus minutes in that game and each took at least 23 shots. That's been the mantra of the All-Star Game in the past, for what it's worth. The game features a ton of offense and not much defense as the fans want to see all the flash, dunks and excellent play.
Cavs point guard Kyrie Irving was named the MVP last season as the East won. Irving had 31 points and 14 assists in the game, playing a total of 34 minutes. He missed only three shots in the game of his 17 he hoisted up. Irving won't start in today's game.
This should be a fun game with a ton of points scored. These games are always a blast with dunks and excellent play. Tonight should be no different as the game is played in the best arena in basketball. Look for a ton of points to be scored, which should make the fans happy.
