2015 Major League Baseball National League Central Odds

The National League Central has a lot going on heading into the season. It’s also going to be a very competitive division, which only makes baseball better. The 2015 Major League Baseball National League Central Odds have the St. Louis Cardinals listed as the favorites to win the division.

St. Louis, Pittsburgh and the Chicago Cubs are all drawing single-digit odds to win the division this year. This division could be very tight all season and the Cardinals will once again be looking to finish in first place. While those three teams could each contend for the title, the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds probably will not.

St. Louis Cardinals +115

The Cardinals won another NL Central title last year, which was the team’s seventh crown in 13 seasons. This squad has been the model of consistency, winning at least 86 games each of the last five years and that should continue this year as well. The rotation is very good, the bullpen won’t lose them a bunch of games and the lineup got better with the addition of Jason Heyward from Atlanta. The three Matt’s — Carpenter, Holliday and Adams — will carry the heavy weight for the lineup this year, which doesn’t seem like a problem.

Pittsburgh Pirates +250

The Pirates have one of the best players in baseball in MVP Andrew McCutchen. He’s arguably the premier athlete in the National League and hitting in the middle of that lineup will make the Pirates another contender this season. Replacing Russell Martin won’t be easy, but the rotation is very good and probably won’t have a problem adjusting to a new catcher. The bullpen, again, should be rock solid. There is a lot of talent on this team.

Chicago Cubs +320

Somehow, the Chicago Cubs are drawing a lot of attention in the betting world. Many think they can win the NL Central and potentially contend for a World Series, but that certainly looks like a big task. Chicago hasn’t won 75 games since 2010 and now all of a sudden they are supposed to be contenders? Joe Maddon as the skipper, Jon Lester was the big free agent signing and Miguel Montero is a great addition at catcher, but these are still the Cubs.

Milwaukee Brewers +1000

The Brewers are 10/1 to win the NL Central. Offensively they should be able to hold their own, but having to play so many games against the Cardinals and Pirates could hinder their win totals this season. Ryan Braun and Aramis Ramirez will hit in the middle of the lineup and Adam Lind gives them a nice left-handed hitting option. Honestly, the rotation isn’t that bad either. Milwaukee could surprise some people this season.

Cincinnati Reds +1400

Hard to believe it, but the Reds could finish in last place in the NL Central. This team has won 90 games three of the last five seasons overall. The rotation is going to need some work outside of Johnny Cueto and Homer Bailey, and the bullpen has the fire baller in Aroldis Chapman on the back end, but getting to him could be an adventure. Todd Frazier and Joey Votto need to have big seasons for the Reds.
