The 2015 Daytona 500 takes place today as the beginning of the NASCAR season. The 2015 Daytona 500 Start Time is set for 1:00 p.m. and it will be televised nationally on FOX. Currently the Betting Odds for the race are listed below, but Dale Earnhardt Jr. is listed as the favorite to win the event.

This will be the 57th running of the Great American Race from Daytona International Speedway and the official start of the NASCAR season. The race will take place over 200 laps, for 500 miles on the 2.5-mile track.

Vince Vaughn is scheduled to give the call for everyone to start their engines later today and Earnhardt Jr. is favored to be the winner of the race yet again. Last year he picked up his second Daytona 500 win, 10 years after winning his first Great American Race. That race last year was marred by a rain delay that lasted almost six hours. This year rain is not expected to be a factor.

Neither of the Busch brothers will be racing today. Kurt Busch has been suspended indefinitely by NASCAR for some legal ramifications. Kyle busted up his leg in an accident on Saturday night and should be missing some significant time. It's obviously not clear how long both Busch brothers will be out and until then the sport will be missing both fireball brothers.
