The Wyoming Cowboys haven't been the model of success lately, so they made a coaching change. The 2014 Wyoming Cowboys Schedule isn't an easy one, but spirits are high.
Former North Dakota State coach Craig Bohl won 104 games before being hired by the Cowboys to turn their program around. Bohl won three straight national championships while at the helm of the Bison, but can he make this Wyoming team one that can compete each week in the Mountain West?
Wyoming will get some money for their program this season by taking unwinnable road games at Oregon and at Michigan State. They might get blown out in both of those games, but the ability to build their program by playing in games like these should help them long term.
The Cowboys are bringing 18 total starters back, so they should have some experience to build upon. Colby Kirkegaard is going to be the starter at QB, at least for the time being. Bohl has said there will be some competition at that position heading into practice this fall.
In any case, the top three returning wide receivers for Wyoming caught nearly 150 passes last season.
If Wyoming can get some stops and find a way to win closer games, they could have a successful season. They went 5-7 last year but were blow out of several games. If they find a way to turn around a couple of them or make a few extra plays, they'll have a good first year for Bohl.
