The San Jose State Spartans are looking to improve on a 6-6 season last year. But the 2014 San Jose State Spartans Schedule isn't an easy one, with several key teams hosting the Spartans this season.
Is there any team in the country that has a more brutal schedule than San Jose State? The Spartans will play seven road games this season and only five at home. Who is running the scheduling over there? Road games can destroy a team that isn't built to win and the Spartans are coming off a 6-6 season from last year.
Ron Caragher is looking to make San Jose State a power in the Mountain West. Senior Blake Jurich will be the quarterback. At times last year the Spartans looked very good offensively, scoring points and winning games. They often scored quite a bit of points and weren't able to get the victories.
The defense obviously needs to get better, then. They gave up more than 35 points a game last year and 460 yards to opponents. Greg Robinson used to be calling the plays for the defense at Michigan and Texas and was the head coach for Syracuse. Certainly he has a lot of experience and could help the Spartans get better on that side of the football. They do have quite a bit of upperclassmen on the roster and should be able to buy into their coaches' systems and get better.
They won six games last season, but have the ability to be just as good this year. But with seven road games on tap, it could be a difficult one.
