2014 Kentucky Derby Odds — Vicar's In Trouble, Dance With Fate, Chitu

Louisiana Derby 2014 Results: Winner, Payouts and Order of Finish

Vicar's In Trouble, Dance With Fate and Chitu are all being tabbed as potential longshots in the 2014 Kentucky Derby. The current odds for Vicar's In Trouble, Dance With Fate and Chitu make the horses three of the 2014 Kentucky Derby Longshots and Potential Contenders on this day before the race. The Kentucky Derby will begin at 6:24pm EST Saturday from Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.

Vicar's In Touble
Current Odds: 22-to-1, Morning Line: 30-to-1

Dance With Fate
Current Odds: 14-to-1, Morning Line: 20-to-1

Chitu
Current Odds: 26-to-1, Morning Line: 20-to-1

Vicar's In Trouble is doing to be ridden by Rosie Napravnik in this race, who certainly has a strong horse background with her parents being involved in horses as well. The Mike Maker-trained horse has a pretty good shot in this race despite the odds. Napravnik isn't a rookie when it comes to the Churchill Downs, either. She won the Kentucky Oaks in 2012 on top of Believe You Can and took ninth in the 2011 Derby aboard Pants on Fire. Vicar's In Trouble is by the same sire as Goldencents and Vyjack. Vicar's In Trouble placed first at Lecomte and the Louisiana Derby.

Dance With Fate has improved on his Beyer Speed Figures each start this season, going from 83 up to 97. He'll have to run faster than that to win the Derby. In the last race he ran, the Grade 1 Blue Grass, Dance With Fate came from 11th position to win the race. The horse also took second place in the El Camino Real Derby and the FrontRunner at Santa Anita last September.

Chitu is just a half-length away from being undefeated in four lifetime races and is one of only 11 second-year male horses to top the 100 Beyer mark on dirt. Chitu is fast out of the gate but might not be able to lead the pack most of the way. Bob Baffert is the trainer, which makes this horse an interesting longshot at the 20-1 odds. Baffert has three Kentucky Derby crowns to his name, most recently in 2002 with War Emblem.

Current Odds: 20/1
