We've reached the final eight teams for the MLB Postseason which begins tonight. Currently the 2013 World Series Odds have the Boston Red Sox as the team to beat in this year's Fall Classic, posting 3.5/1 odds. The complete odds for the World Series are listed below.
Boston finished in a tie for the best record in baseball this year, posting 97 wins along with the St. Louis Cardinals. Both are considered serious threats to win the World Series this season and could potentially face off in that Fall Classic. But neither will have an easy road getting to the final series of the year.
The Red Sox will take on the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS. Tampa Bay won both single elimination Wild Card games and now take on a Red Sox team that beat them in 12 of 19 games this season. The Red Sox might have the best offense in all of baseball, ranking first in MLB in runs scored, on base percentage and slugging percentage this season. They also came into the playoffs ranked second in batting average with a .277 clip this season.
In the National League the Los Angeles Dodgers are the team with the best odds to get to and win the World Series, posting at 4.15/1. The Dodgers had a roller coaster season being pretty much out of it at one time then playing extremely well after the All-Star break. They'll take on the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS, which is probably the best beginning series in the MLB Postseason. Atlanta beat LA five of seven games during the regular season.
And let's not forget about all the pitching in this year's post season. The Detroit Tigers might have the best overall rotation with Max Scherzer, Justin Verlander, Anibal Sanchez and Doug Fister. The Dodgers have the ability to run out Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke in addition to Hyun-Jin Ryu. The Cardinals will have Adam Wainwright, Jake Westbrook, Lance Lynn and Shelby Miller/Michael Wacha. And the Pirates can counter with A.J. Burnett and Francisco Liriano. Oakland's pitching staff has several young hurlers and don't forget the Rays with Matt Moore, David Price, Alex Cobb and Chris Archer. Boston will battle with the best as well in Clay Bucholz, John Lackey, Jon Lester, Jake Peavy and Ryan Dempster.

This will certainly be a fun postseason to watch. If Miguel Cabrera can be anywhere close to 100 percent for the Detroit Tiger, that team is going to be tough to beat. Having to face Scherzer, Verlander and Sanchez potentially twice in a series in addition to pitching to that lineup could be a problem for any other club in the league.
