The NASCAR Sprint Cup season officially gets underway on February 24th with the circuit’s biggest race, the Daytona 500. While Daytona holds a special significance, it is not the ultimate prize. Winning the Sprint Cup Championship is the main goal and based upon the latest 2013 Sprint Cup Championship Odds, book makers are expecting another tightly contested battle for the top spot. Five time champion Jimmie Johnson is the favorite though; at +500 moneyline odds ($100 wins $500). Last year’s Sprint Cup winner Brad Keselowski is a second pick to win the series at +800 odds. Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, and Kasey Kahne are all drawing +800 odds as well. Other notables, including Matt Kenseth, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards, and Dale Earnhardt Jr., are listed at +1000, +1000, +1000, +1200, and +1500 odds respectively.
