On Saturday the 2013 Preakness Stakes takes center stage on the sports world. There are only going to be nine horses in this year's event and one of the Preakness Stakes Contenders this year is Goldencents. Currently the race has Goldencents Odds listed at 8-1 to win the second leg of the Triple Crown.
One of just nine horses to be entered into this year's Preakness Stakes, Goldencents will begin the race from the second post position. The horse, which is a Doug O'Neill trained contender, won the Santa Anita Derby. Goldencents had an awful Kentucky Derby a few weeks ago, running for the first time on a sloppy track and it showed. The horse many thought could win the Kentucky Derby finished 17th.
If this horse ends up getting to double digits on the betting line, it certainly will be worth taking a look at for some value in the race. In seven career races the horse has won four times and placed once, so it absolutely knows how to finish the race in the first position.
Now that the weather forecast is projecting a dry track for the race, look out for Goldencents. This race is shorter than the Derby and while there isn't as much buzz around this horse as there was back a few weeks ago, it's still a valuable ticket.
