The Denver Nuggets stare down elimination for a second consecutive game as they square off against the sixth seeded Golden State Warriors this evening at the ORACLE Arena in Oakland. Tonight’s Game 6 showdown between the Nuggets and Warriors is scheduled to get underway at 10:30pm ET on TNT. The latest 2013 NBA Playoff Picks have Golden State, which holds a 3-2 series lead, listed as a -2.5 against the spread and -135 moneyline favorite ($135 wins $100). Denver is drawing +115 odds to send the series to a Game 7. This evening’s game total is set at 211.5 points.
Denver, a -450 favorite to win this series prior to its start, snapped its three game losing streak to the Warriors on Tuesday night with a 107-100 win at the Pepsi Center. The Nuggets avoided elimination as a result of the victory, which featured a tremendous effort from Andre Iguodala.
Iguodala produced 25 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals in leading Denver to the win. Ty Lawson and Wilson Chandler did not shoot particularly well (11-of-28), but they did combine for 38 points as they connected on 7-of-15 from beyond the arc.
Defensively the Nuggets were finally able to cool off the red hot Warriors. Golden State shot just 43.2 percent from the field, its worst effort since falling 95-97 in Game 1.
Stephen Curry, who killed Denver with his second half shooting in the Warriors pivotal 115-101 Game 4 win, finished with 15 points after going 1-for-7 from beyond the arc while Jarrett Jack and Harrison Barnes combined to shoot 14-of-33 from the field.
Despite the Nuggets series saving Game 5 win, the
betting public is firmly in the Warriors corner tonight. Golden State is drawing 88 percent of the spread money and 87 percent of the moneyline cash.
Notable Trends: The Under is 5-1 over the last two years when the Warriors played as a pick to -3 home favorite coming off a road loss.
