NASCAR’s most prestigious race, the Daytona 500, will, per usual, open the Sprint Cup season later this month. The 200 lap event, which takes on Sunday, February 24th at the Daytona International Speedway, has a scheduled start time of 1:00pm ET; it will be broadcast live on FOX. 2013 Daytona 500 Odds have Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr. listed as +1000 co-favorites ($100 wins $1000) to win the race. Busch, who owns 24 career wins, has never won the Daytona 500. Earnhardt Jr won his first and only Daytona 500 in 2004.
Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski (last year’s Sprint Cup champion), Kevin Harvick (2007 Daytona 500 winner), and two-time Daytona 500 winner Matt Kenseth (2009, 2012) are each drawing +1200 odds to win this year’s event.
Five-time Sprint Cup winner and one-time Daytona 500 champion Jimmie Johnson (2006) is listed at +1500 odds. Johnson’s teammate and co-car owner Jeff Gordon, a four-time Sprint Cup champion and three-time Daytona 500 winner, is getting +1500 odds as well.
