The 2013 Belmont Stakes takes place on Saturday evening and one of the contenders to win the race is Golden Soul. The third and final leg of horse racing's Triple Crown will take place Saturday at at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. While their isn't a horse running for horse racing glory in the Belmont Stakes, it certainly still will be a race to remember.
Golden Soul is holding 10-1 odds currently to win the Belmont Stakes. The 10-1 odds are a solid number for the horse that finished second in the Kentucky Derby. Going into that race Golden Soul was 34-1 to win and nearly did, coming in just behind Orb in the world's most famous horse race. There should be a disadvantage starting from the 14th post in Saturday's Belmont race, but the 10-1 odds are proof this horse could make a serious run.
The horse ran well in the slop at the Derby and it's being predicted this race could be a sloppy one as well. That should make Golden Soul feel a bit at ease as the horse has been in this position before. Jockey Robby Albarado is getting the mount yet again on this horse.
Golden Soul didn't run in the Preakness Stakes and should be rested up for this race on Saturday. The Belmont Stakes is known in horse racing as the "Test of Champions" that covers 1.5 miles and certainly separates the contenders from the pretenders. Golden Soul should be able to hang around in this one until the end. With 10-1 odds it's surely a horse to be looked at and potentially one that should be used in exotics.
