The Gold Medal match in women's soccer is going to be a repeat of the 2011 World Cup Finals between the United States and Japan. The 2012 Olympics Soccer Gold Medal match pits two rivals together in what will decide the top spot in women's soccer. The match is slated for a 2:45 p.m. EST start time on Thursday and it will be televised nationally on NBC Sports Network. Currently the odds for the match have the United States favored at +110 in regulation time.

In a rematch of what was considered to be one of the best soccer matches of all time in women's action, the United States will square off with Japan for the right to wear the coveted Gold Medal on Thursday afternoon. Both teams were able to get through the field in their respective draws and each had tough matches in their last game. The Americans won Group G by taking all three games and earning themselves nine points. Japan, on the other hand, finished with two draws and one outright victory. Then, in the medal round, the Japanese team was able to beat Brazil 2-0 in the quarters and France 2-1 in the semifinals. The United States played arguably the best of any of the Olympic team matches on Monday, knocking off Canada 4-3 in extra time with Alex Morgan 's header giving them the lead in the 123rd minute.

While there still is a lot of buzz surrounding that game with Canada, the Americans know they have to put it behind them and get back to work. In the World Cup they had an equally amazing finish against Brazil in the quarterfinals, but fell to Japan in the finals. They are planning on having a different outcome for this match on Thursday, and coming unprepared for a second straight matchup against Japan for the world's bragging rights would be unacceptable.

USA fell behind Canada three different times because of a hat trick by Christine Sinclair. However, they were able to overcome those three goals and ultimately earned the right to play for a Gold Medal. Oddsmakers believe the Americans will win this time around against Japan, but in just one match, anything can happen.
